Yeah, it can't *make* you happy. But it certainly pays rent. When rent is at stake, I can't be very happy. When our jobs are at risk of layoffs, kids need health insurance, our fathers need surgery, or eating the same rice dishes for 3 days in a row, it's hard to maintain a good face.
"Sorry, can't come to see you, I'm short on cash." That sucks.

I think it's important to remember Maslow, especially when people are starting businesses. Money can't buy happiness, but it covers the first 2 layers. It takes cash to afford the pyramid.

Many of my folks on here are young professionals. We're taking over the job market entirely in next decades. Let's keep the pyramid in mind as we go through our working lives, for our employees, friends, and family.
